This post picks up where the last one leaves off:
This lesson speaks to the mindset of weight loss, specifically, that you are always trying to improve on it. Learning to lose weight is really about getting to know yourself better. You have to not lie to yourself about how much discipline you have. You have to know how strong your will really is, and balance indulging in treats with that. You have to look at your relationships with your family, friends, and coworkers who all have an influence over how much you eat.
This information can’t be sold in a supplement. The man or woman seeking a weight loss supplement to help them lose a ton of weight is lost.
Whether trying to lose 100 pounds or 10 pounds, you are always working on improving the consistency of the actions that help you perpetuate that weight loss. Granted, the actions of someone trying to lose 10 pounds are more refined than that of someone trying to lose 100 pounds, but they are actions nonetheless, and there are only so many of them that any person can learn at a time.
These 3 actions you take on a daily basis are just that – actions. They are things if you do more consistently will speed up your weight loss or at the very least make keeping the weight off easier. I’ll give you mine.
Keeping these promises makes my life easier. They’re not that hard to follow really (I’ve been following a low carb diet on the weekdays for years), bu they have tangible benefits.
So even though I am just trying keep being able to see my abs in the mirror at this point, I have something to focus on each and every day that I am still not 100% proficient at (and I never will be).
Now back to our future weight loss centurion who is on a quest to lose 100 pounds. Usually, they promise themselves something like this.
I’m having an anxiety attack just reading this. It’s just too damn much to follow for anyone. It’s not going to work long term.
Anyone trying to follow even half that regime is just trying to balance their past imperfection with being perfect now. And they’re going to fail because perfection is not in our nature.
Instead, our weight loss centurion should do this.
These are “starter promises.” They’re really basic. They’re going to ingrain long term successful weight loss habits into your brain so that in 4 to 6 weeks, you can add 3 new actions to practice doing consistently because these 3 will be automatic. And that is how you lose 100 pounds!!!!
Well there is one other way. You can hit rock bottom. It will be a heart attack, a loved one living your kind of lifestyle who dies too soon, or something else that’s just awful. That can also compel you to change. But really, neither of us wants that for you or anyone else. We want to change before the consequence, not after.
Want help starting your promises and knowing when to change them? That’s a whole part of my club where I figure out the best actions to follow and at what time. Click here to learn more.
